I am extremely inspired by THE BIG GIVE. I believe that each of us can find ways to change lives for the better, and if Oprah is the catalyst in a movement that results in people taking initiative to help those less fortunate, I applaud her!
I am active in BraveHeart Foundation, and riding the wave of generosity fostered by THE BIG GIVE, we currently have the funding necessary to restore AT LEAST ten families to their homes in New Orleans! We would love to make it twenty, and you can help us do that!
The Big Give has caused people to explore their own capabilities and impact. I am very grateful that I have been encouraged and inspired to make a difference!

Thanks Mary.

Sorry for your shock. I kind of suspected it. And I think there must be Home Edition video coaches. So many of the videos look alike.

This is TV. And, as with so much of reality TV, it's staged for an audience.

As much I as like watching Ty and the gang, I get irked every time a family seems shocked that the bus is outside of their home. How could they be shocked when they have wireless mic battery packs attached to each of them?

*sigh*

I did notice the product placement on both shows too. On the Big Give, Hilton, Ford, and United all got implicit endorsement from Oprah. Wonder how much that cost!

But even in my slighly jaded view, I'll still watch--and enjoy--both shows.
