Six Degrees is a way for charities to get more publicity and online donations through Network for Good.
Now how truly effective it is as a fundraiser might be debateable. But with so many people publishing their own blogs, doing MySpace, etc. it can be a great publicity, link building tool. Here’s what I wrote about it earlier this year.

Sandra is absolutely correct with her post on SixDegrees.org. In fact, we have learned a lot from the activity on the site and recently pulled together some of the key takeaways
about person-to-person fundraising which are detailed in a post on Katya’s blog @ http://www.nonprofitmarketingblog.com/comments/kevin_bacon_and_celebrities_with_a_cause/.
These findings and the powerful stories of the people who won the matching grant at (http://www.sixdegrees.org/Winners.aspx) could really change how organizations envision fundraising in the future.
